Before knowing what should not be eaten in high blood pressure, we should know that what is called high blood pressure, normally the blood pressure of our body is 120/80mmHg and when it reaches from 140/90 mmHg to 159/99 mmHg, it is called high blood pressure.

According to the American Heart Association, 130/80 mmHg or more is considered high blood pressure.

High blood pressure leads to serious diseases in the body. Blood pressure means the pressure exerted by the blood in the veins. In the case of high blood pressure, there is extra pressure on the arteries, due to which many heart-related diseases can occur.

High blood pressure or hypertension is considered one of the most dangerous diseases for the body.

Among men

  • From 15 to 20 years – around 117/77mmhg
  • From 21 to 45 years – from 115/80mmhg
  • From 46 to 60 years – between 120/80mmhg to 130/80mmhg
  • Over 60 – around 144/77mmhg

Among women

  • From 15-20 years – around 120/79
  • From 21 to 45 years – between 110/72 mmHg – 127/80 mmHg
  • From 46 to 60 years – between 124/75 mmHg to 133/80mmhg
  • Over 60 – around 130/77mmhg

What should not be eaten in high blood pressure

  • Consumption of high fat foods ie high fat food full cream milk, butter etc. should be reduced. like
  • Alcohol should not be consumed because a lot of calories are found in alcohol, it increases weight and the problem of high blood pressure increases due to weight gain. Also, alcohol has a negative effect on those taking high blood pressure drugs.
  • Consumption of canned foods, salty chips, bread, pizza, cold drinks, cake-pastry etc. should be reduced.
  • Red meat, salty, oily, pickle and spicy food like burger-sandwich, pakodas, potato chaat, samosa, shortbread etc. should not be consumed.
  • Foods that increase cholesterol, oils, ghee and
  • Salt etc. should also not be consumed or at least should be avoided.

What to eat in high blood pressure ?

  • More and more fruits and vegetables especially legumes should be eaten.
  • Nuts like whole grains, pistachios, almonds etc should be eaten and at least 10 glasses of water should be drunk daily.
  • Vitamin C-rich citrus fruits and vegetables such as oranges, strawberries, blackcurrants, red peppers, broccoli and Brussels sprouts should be eaten.
  • Food rich in zinc, copper, potassium, iron and calcium should be taken.

Also, do not take tension, exercise regularly, meditate regularly for a few hours so that mental stress is reduced, keep positive thinking.
